What we're hearing about the Packers' coach openings and others around the NFC North
The Leap provides the latest intel on the Packers' search for their next QB and D-line coaches as well as updates on other coaching vacancies in the division.
The seven NFL teams that have selected a new head coach or remain in pursuit of one have understandably garnered most of the attention during the 2025 hiring cycle. Those decisions move the needle as much as any other move a franchise can make, either providing the club with a new lease on life or sending it deeper into the wilderness.
However, a staff needs more than one quality coach at the top to function at a high level, and the assistants hired beneath him can have a significant impact as well. The Green Bay Packers have experienced this with Tom Clements, the longtime quarterbacks coach who helped guide a young Aaron Rodgers into a perennial MVP contender and later returned years later to help develop Jordan Love. They have also seen how hiring the wrong assistant can hold a team back as Jason Rebrovich did in various capacities during his three-year tenure in Green Bay.
With Clements retiring and Rebrovich officially off the coaching staff, the Packers began their offseason with two important roles to fill. As of now, both positions remain vacant. Here is what The Leap has heard about the team's search for replacements as well as some notable job openings elsewhere in the NFC North.
