This isn't the Packers trade you're looking for
ESPN's Bill Barnwell suggested the Packers trade Romeo Doubs and a second-rounder for the Broncos' Jerry Jeudy and change, but that deal doesn't make sense for Green Bay.

In the world of NFL media, few reporters and writers offer quality analysis as consistently as Bill Barnwell. The long-time ESPN contributor regularly provides some of the most thoughtful, data-driven coverage of a league where groupthink reigns supreme. When Barnwell speaks, it usually pays to listen.
This week, Barnwell wrote a column with 15 trade proposals. The timing makes sense as the NFL's trade deadline arrives in a little over two weeks and teams have demonstrated increasing willingness to make deals in recent years. The trade candidates range from backups to former All-Pros.
And Barnwell had one proposal for the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos.
Packers get: WR Jerry Jeudy, 2024 fourth-round pick
Broncos get: WR Romeo Doubs, 2024 second-round pickThe Broncos are expecting to tear down their roster on the defensive side of the ball, but let's consider a scenario in which they make a significant move on offense. Jeudy has shown tantalizing glimpses of potential since being drafted with the No. 15 overall selection in 2020, but injuries and middling quarterback play have cost him significant developmental time. He still averaged more than 2.0 yards per route run last season and is signed through 2024 for a total of just under $15 million, so the 24-year-old has the possibility to be extremely valuable if things break right over the next year-plus.
Barnwell goes on to explain how the Broncos would likely prefer to deal away Courtland Sutton and adds that head coach Sean Payton could mold Doubs into "a more impactful starter over the next couple of seasons."
For the Packers, the notion of adding a veteran receiver holds some appeal. The current group of pass catchers doesn't lack talent. However, the offense's collective inexperience has created headaches over the past few games and cost them in critical situations. Head coach Matt LaFleur successfully schemed around those issues early in the season, but those tricks haven't produced the same results since.
Still, would trading Romeo Doubs and a pick currently slated for the top 40 for Jerry Jeudy solve those problems?
