Good morning and happy Thanksgiving week! With the Green Bay Packers playing on the holiday and many of our readers in transit, we're opening up the comment section to everyone. Peter and I will pop in throughout Wednesday and Thursday to respond to questions (and drag anyone who dares slander mac and cheese as a Thanksgiving side).
Samori Toure opened the season behind (not necessarily in order) Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Malik Heath. Watson and Doubs missed time or had limited work early on, so Toure received a bump in workload (77 offensive snaps between Weeks 1 and 3). Once Doubs recovered and Watson returned to the lineup, Toure returned to normal usage (hasn't played more than 11 snaps in the games since and was left inactive the last three weeks). All of which to say, Toure never had a big role in the offense and wasn't going to see much action without injuries clearing the way.
While Wicks' potential absence Thursday could push Toure off the inactive list, I wouldn't expect much playing time unless more injuries occur during the game. Toure has spent exactly half of his offensive snaps in the slot through two years, and that's probably the role the Packers see for him. With Reed seeing most of his snaps in the slot (along with some slot contributions by Watson and Doubs), there just aren't many opportunities available for Toure.
With the possible exception of Bo Melton -- the wideout the Packers just signed to the 53 from their practice squad -- it seems fair to say that Toure resides at the bottom of the depth chart until further notice.
Hey Guys just wanted to say thank you for your coverage of the Green Bay Packers. I've been listening and watching you now Peter for a few seasons now and really enjoy it, I don't start my day without it. As former Packers defensive back Jim Hill always closed with "keep the faith"! Go Pack Go, this team is down but better days are ahead!
Wicks has been there MOF receiver during this offensive resurgence (if we can call 62 points in 3 games that). Assuming he can’t go tomorrow, who assumes that role, especially without Musgrave?
Romeo Doubs and Tucker Kraft could and probably would get those opportunities, but the Packers also have the option of deploying Christian Watson that way. We started to see signs of that on Sunday with the way they used "cheat" motion to pull defenders away from the middle to clear space for Watson on his touchdown play. There's more meat on that bone if they want it.
Agreed and I think Watson’s best use is on crossers over the middle. They haven’t really utilized it much, but hopefully his TD last week signals a change there
Just heard about Musgrave kidney laceration and watched five minute doctor explanation on these injuries. Sure hope this is a grade 1 laceration and not a grade 3,4, or 5 injury.
Do you see Ben Sims and Tucker Craft playing in twin TE sets while Luke recovers or more one TE sets?
Currently, Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims are the only healthy tight ends on the roster -- Josiah Deguara was listed as a DNP Monday and Tuesday -- so they will see action together at some point. Still, given the caliber of the available players, it seems more likely the Packers primarily lean into other personnel groups instead. You'll see 11 personnel even if, say Dontayvion Wicks can't go and perhaps even a sprinkle of "pony" with Patrick Taylor serving as the other running back.
Hold my cup! Who said Mac and cheese ain't a good thanksgiving dish? Lol Good Morning Jason and Peter 😄 have a wonderful day and thanksgiving tomorrow. 🍽️💚💛
What’s going on with Samori Toure? It seems like a long time since his name has come up. Are the recent injuries likely to give him more playing time?

Musgrave kidney laceration, awesome. 1a Eddie Lee Ivery
1b Steve Atkins, running backs; does anybody remember? Been a good run. Next year 11 picks. And some $

At least in my experience, it's not a frequent option at southern Thanksgiving dinners. I have never understood why that is, however.
We going down like we getting swatted with the swatter lol but I still have faith in my guys. Go pack go 💚💛🏈💯💪
I understand I grew up eating Mac and cheese from my African American side. Then I grew up eating ham and rice from my puerto Rican side. So I get it
