Potential Packers? Prospects with most still to prove after combine
The Packers heavily utilize athletic testing in their draft evaluations. But coming out of the combine, several important prospects still haven't completed the on-field tests.
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine has come and gone, providing some needed clarity on a wide swath of prospects. For the first time in this draft cycle, teams have more meaningful information on which to base evaluations than game film.
That dynamic doesn't apply to every player, however.
Over the past few years, an increasing number of combine invitees have opted to skip some or all of the on-field tests. That trend continued into 2025 with many of the top prospects sitting out the workouts for one reason or another. For a team like the Green Bay Packers which heavily utilize testing data in the evaluation process, the lack of activity creates a burdensome knowledge gap.
The prospects who didn't work out at the combine still have time to show talent evaluators how well they can test. Most will do so at their respective college's pro day. Others will hold a personal pro day and/or run the drills during team visits. A scant few won't test at all between now and the 2025 NFL Draft.
For any of these prospects to land in Green Bay, they'll have to complete at least the majority of the traditional pre-draft testing. The Packers will keep a close watch on a handful of potential draft picks, especially the following players.
