Congratulations to The Leap's Peter Bukowski on winning a PFWA award
Peter just won his second Dick Connor Writing Award from the Pro Football Writers of America, breaking a tie with his Leap co-founder.
We have some big news here at The Leap HQ. My co-founder Peter Bukowski just won a Dick Connors Writing Award from the Pro Football Writers of America for his story on Jaire Alexander:
This is Peter's second time winning an award from the PFWA, breaking a tie between the two of us that has lasted for six years (hisย previous win came in 2018, mine came in 2016).ย I'm not mad. Please don't put in the newspaper that I got mad.
More importantly, Peter's award-winning piece is a great example of the thoughtful Green Bay Packers coverage we strive to deliver here at The Leap. As we've said from Day 1,ย we aim to take readers "beyond the box scores and headlines in order to explain the how and why behind every major decision, development, and outcome" involving the team. Stories like this and so many others that we've published at The Leap demonstrate our commitment to those ideals.
It's gratifying that our peers have begun to recognize the work we do here. The Leap was the only fully independent outlet to take home a PFWA award this year, and that is no small feat. We are a mere two-man operation, smaller than everyย other significant platform covering the Packers. But we succeed because we cover the team differently than our peers.
And that success would not be possible without all of you. The Leap quite literally could not exist if not for the dedicated readers who support our work. To those of you who are already subscribers, thank you! To those who have read our work but haven't yet taken -- I'm so sorry for this -- the leap with us, please consider joining us as we chronicle a potential Packers Super Bowl run:
So, congratulations again to Peter, and thanks again for all the support! We look forward to kicking off our fourth season of Packers coverage tomorrow.
Well deserved! The Leap is well researched and written!
Congratulations, Peter! ๐ฅณ๐
